YOU DESERVE TO FEEL GOOD!!!!
I offer an integrative style that draws on therapeutic massage, structural bodywork and trigger point therapy. Many of my clients come to me with work related pain associated with computer use and/or repetitive motions, migraines and posture related aches and pains. They find relief from the discomfort and you can too! You can feel confident the session will be tailored to fit your individual needs.
"DO WHAT YOU LOVE...LOVE WHAT YOU DO...AND FEEL GOOD WHILE YOU ARE DOING IT!"
Andy is a certified and
therapist specializing in
pain relief through
structural bodywork and
trigger point therapy at
her private practice in
San Francisco, CA.
Her style flows between the edgy manipulation of soft tissue and soothing, restorative bodywork. Using an intuitive and intelligent approach, Andy's style speaks to
the bodies' inherent resilience and desire to
move toward balance and alignment.
By releasing holding patterns that are no longer serving us, we can expand and reach our full potential.
Andy's intrigue and passion for massage is rooted in her fundamental curiosity about the human body and how things manifest somatically, her education from the Florida School of Massage in 2005 and her continued education, with many reknowned and prestigious teachers, in a variety of massage modalities including injury specific myofascial release and trigger point therapy, postural analysis as well as subtle modalities like ortho-bionomy, craniosacral therapy, reiki & Ayurveda.
In Other News:
In late April 2018, I will be taking a course with RockTape in IASTM - Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. In IASTM, we use a tool to lightly scrape the site of adhesion, helping to release fascial restrictions by creating a controlled microabrasion and stimulating the bodies' self healing response. It is basically the same technique that folks know as scraping or Gua Sha in Chinese medicine and Graston Techinique in chiropractic settings. In fact, I have worked alongside chiropractors that almost exclusively use this technique because it is so effective! I am looking forward to incorporating this into therapeutic sessions. It is an effective remedy for breaking down deep scar tissue, tendinitis, and many other situations which limit our mobility. Also, if you have been feeling tired and wired or like your nervous system is needing a reboot, I am now offering private sessions of Yoga Nidra, an ancient style of meditation that lulls the brain into a lucid state while the body achieves a deep state of relaxation and restoration. These sessions address the overactive mind and the body's response to pain, while releasing limiting thoughts and tackling depletion. Studies show 1 hour of Yoga Nidra has been proven to equate 4 hours of "normal" sleep! Read more about how Yoga Nidra works here and also under services.
